Abstract

The global economic crisis which the whole world has been
witnessing in the past few years now has taken a toll on Nigeria
and Nigerians. This paper examined the implications of the global
crisis on Nigeria and suggests few steps to be taken to ameliorate
the effects on the citizens. It also studied the steps the Federal
government has taken so far to reduce the impact on the economy
and the society at large most importantly, the paper highlighted
the need for Nigeria to diversify its economy and look more inward
into other solid minerals deposits development and agriculture so
as to remove herself from the over dependence on oil.
