Abstract

Unemployment is the cankerworm that eats deep into the development
of the economy and thus has a lot of negative consequences such as
youth restiveness, juvenile delinquency, high incidence of armed
robbery among others. This paper examined the imperatives of ICT in
reducing unemployment among Nigerian graduates. It also exposed
why graduate unemployment rate is high and the requisite skills to
meet the job requirements of employers. It was revealed that ICT has
impacted the economic and social relationship of Nigeria with an
increase in negotiating financial power. Therefore, it is plausible for
all stakeholders in the idustry toencourage the practice of ICT in order
to have a vibrant economy.
